The SAP SCM is one of the SAP Business Suite solutions to manage Supply Chain in an efficient and effective way which ultimately brings efficiencies across the supply chain. In this blog, we present the capabilities within SAP SCM APO – TPVS – Transportation Planning and Vehicle Scheduling.
SAP TPVS –Transportation Planning and Vehicle scheduling is used to plan, optimize, and execute the complete transportation process between companies in a detailed manner.
The orders (sales orders, purchase orders, returns, or stock transport orders) and deliveries that one have created in SAP ECC and transferred to SAP APO using SAP APO Core Interface (CIF) form the basis for planning.
The result of SAP TP/VS planning is planned shipment that you transfer to SAP ECC after planning is complete.
In SAP ECC, we use the component Logistics Execution (LE) for transportation execution.
One can take various restrictions into account in SAP TP/VS, for example, requested delivery dates or transportation capacities when assigning the vehicles.
One can use the transportation service providers (TSP) selection to assign transportation service providers to planned shipments, either manually or automatically.
Interactive planning can also possible to plan shipments for orders and deliveries and to process them manually.
To monitor shipments, seamless integration with SAP Event Management is also possible.
Integration with SAP Business Warehouse is possible to evaluate the Transportation process.
